"Fallen Monarch" Panoramic
Sept. 15th, 1911
Mariposa Big Tree Grove
Pacific Photo Co.

Notes: Panoramic photographs were once very popular and are a great way to look at the past. From baseball games to great city scapes anywhere from 1900 to the 1930's, the restored panoramic makes a very big difference in presentation.

I only have one now, as the panoramics are very difficult to restore and the LOC examples on-line are too low-resolution to handle properly.

Women in Belgium/France during WWI
ca. 1917 (?)

Notes: This is a picture I found in an antique store, taken by a WWI soldier during WWI in either Belgium or France. I am sure studying the picture and the stores will give a clue as to where it actually was.

Since pictures in that time period used larger negatives and the prints were commonly contact prints, this picture is a nice high-resolution picture from about 1917 during WWI.

The original is not currently online, but it is very faded. I have only performed one curve on this, but the results so far are very promising. Most of the restoration work will be fixing texture issues in shadowed areas.

Bridge at Cambridge
ca. 1890-1920
Judges Postcards

Notes: Amazingly, this 4x6 postcard, once restore has more resolution than a modern-day 35mm slide.

Postcards in the late 1800's and early 1900's often were printed as contact prints, and this postcard is a beautiful example of restoring such pictures back to the original form.

In addition, it can be printed at least 36" wide and still have plenty of sharpness.

I performed only one curve on this so far, and it is far from complete as a restoration. But, the results so far are very nice, especially for a postcard.
